From just outside of our nation's capitol comes Pentagram. Started in Alexandria Virgina by front man Bobby Liebling and Geof O'Keefe in 1971 to reflect their interests in acts such as Black Sabbath, Pentagram quickly became a major pioneer of doom metal. With seven studio albums and countless lineup changes one thing has always remained the same and that is Pentagram's sound. Heavy jazz influenced riffs and Liebling's tortured vocals about love, sacrifice, and death ensured that Pentagram rose to the top of the underground scene, and quickly became known for their incredibly heavy live performances.
