The Glowing Stars are going out in retro style at their last show ever at the DNA Lounge with sci-fi rockers The Phenomenauts, string metal masters Judgement Day and chiptune comrades crashfaster. The indie chip-rock duo, who has been seen in SF Weekly, San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Bay Guardian and Live 105 will be ending after two years of playing music alongside 20-year-old hardware: The Game Boy.

The Phenomenauts perform a science-fiction inspired mix of punk rock, garage and new-wave. Combined with compelling antics and theatrics, the group's message is a call to arms to defenders of science and honor across the galaxy, dealing with the serious implications of science fiction, science fact, and offering new perspectives on Earth life as we know it.

The Glowing Stars combines the clicky waveforms and perfect arpeggios of 8-bit processors with the fury of live drums and distorted guitars. Influenced as much by Frank Zappa and Freddie Mercury as Mega Man and Metroid, the band's wistfully emotional lyrics are more boy-meets-girl than Game-Boy-meets-end-boss.

Brothers Anton and Lewis Patzner of Judgement Day have been perfecting their unique, high-energy brand of \"string metal\" for over half a decade now. Their innovative style and shredding chops on violin and cello have earned them US and European tours with buzz bands like Mates and State and dredge. Add to the line-up the heavy-hitting, double-kick-pedaling drummer Jon Bush and an extensive array of vintage effects pedals and you've got the instrumental, unstoppable force of Judgement Day.

crashfaster is a four-bodied hive mind from San Francisco, California that combines the gritty chip sounds of Gameboy, NES and C64 with hard-hitting rock and both synthetic and human vocals to form a completely original, hybrid chip-electro-rock experience.
